From Bunk Beds to Running Room: The Family’s Move and Bedroom Renovation
TODAY meteorologist Dylan Dreyer has shared her emotional journey as she prepares for a significant move with her family. In an Instagram post on October 23, 2025, she detailed the changes in their apartment and the upcoming transition to a larger space.
A Heartfelt Goodbye
In a series of photos and captions, Dreyer painted her sons’ bedroom from olive green to a more neutral color. She wrote: “This room holds a lot of memories and I thank God every day for each and every one of them,” reflecting on the cherished moments spent in this space.
From Bunk Beds to More Running Room
The family has made creative use of their limited space over the years. Initially, Dreyer’s older two sons slept on a loft bed with a crib underneath. As her youngest son arrived, she added another crib next to the window.
Eventually, they transitioned to a triple bunk bed for all three boys.
Dreyer explained that while the family has grown out of their current apartment and needs more space, “I’m so sad about it but also so ready at the same time!” She shared that the boys’ room was a “love/hate relationship,” with both challenges and benefits. The triple bunk bed provided entertainment but limited running around space.
Future Prospects
Dreyer mentioned, “We bought the place when I was pregnant with Calvin and now we’ve grown out of our two-bedroom apartment!” She sees the value in changing locations to gain additional space for her children as they grow. The move is part of a broader transition that will offer more room for physical activities like running.
Despite the mixed emotions, Dreyer expressed optimism about their new chapter: “It was a love/hate relationship. I was mad everyday with so little space and the boys bothering each other at night: the wild running around but no space to do so.” She added, “The boys definitely need more running room!”
As the family prepares for their move, Dreyer’s post on Instagram highlights the challenges of balancing growth, change, and cherished memories in a small apartment. The upcoming transition promises new opportunities and expanded spaces for her children to thrive.
