Royal Caribbean’s Expansion in Florida
Royal Caribbean International has announced a significant expansion of its cruise operations, set to begin in 2027-28. The company plans to deploy five ships year-round from Florida ports, marking a strategic move that underscores the enduring popularity and economic significance of cruises in the region.
New Ships and Itineraries
The deployment will include two vessels from Royal Caribbean’s Icon-class, with the second Icon-class ship entering service earlier this year. This vessel will continue offering seven-night cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas departing from Port Canaveral. Additionally, a second Oasis-class ship, the Harmony of the Seas, is scheduled to offer weeklong cruises, also departing from Central Florida.
Two Oasis-class ships are set to operate year-round schedules: the Utopia of the Seas will sail from Port Canaveral and the Wonder of the Seas from Miami. These vessels will feature a range of itineraries that include three- and four-night cruises, highlighting exclusive destinations like Perfect Day at CocoCay, which offers private island experiences.
Expansion to New Destinations
The Radiance of the Seas will sail from Tampa with year-round schedules of four-, five-, six-, and eight-night cruises to the Western Caribbean. These itineraries are expected to feature new beach clubs in Cozumel and Nassau, as well as Perfect Day Mexico, a private location set to debut in Costa Maya late in 2027.
Exclusive Destinations and Loyalty Program
Royal Caribbean’s loyalty program, the Crown & Anchor Society, will offer exclusive access for members. They can book new itineraries ahead of their official opening on November 5, 2025. The company’s strategy involves creating unique destinations that provide enhanced experiences for passengers.
The deployment and expansion highlight Royal Caribbean’s commitment to maintaining a competitive edge in the highly lucrative cruise market. With the addition of these new ships and exclusive destinations, the company aims to attract more visitors and capitalize on the growing demand for premium cruising experiences.
