India Briefs UAE on Operation Sindoor

New Delhi, October 28, 2025 – India conducted a detailed briefing to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) regarding its military operation against Pakistan, titled “Operation Sindoor.” This move comes as both nations continue to enhance their bilateral military cooperation and explore new avenues for collaboration in training and capability enhancement.

Background of Operation Sindoor

The four-day cross-border hostilities with Pakistan, which took place in May 2025, were a significant part of the ongoing tension between the two countries. Indian Army officers provided comprehensive details about this operation to Major General Yousef Maayouf Saeed Al Hallami, who is currently visiting India as the commander of UAE’s land forces.

Detailed Briefing and Future Interactions

The briefing covered several aspects of India’s defence capabilities. It included insights from the DG information systems and the Army Design Bureau on artificial intelligence (AI) roadmap advancements. This interaction was part of a broader strategy to strengthen military ties between the two nations.

On Tuesday, Major General Al Hallami will interact with Dr Samir V Kamat, the chairman of DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation).

The discussions are expected to focus on various indigenous weapons systems and equipment developed by India. Representatives from Indian defence industries will also participate in these meetings, highlighting their contributions to national security.

Previous Engagement

This recent engagement follows an earlier meeting between India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the visiting Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Deputy PM Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. During this meeting in April 2025, India offered the indigenous Akash air defence missile system to the UAE.

These ongoing efforts signify a strengthening of military relations between India and the UAE, aiming to support regional stability and enhance joint operational capabilities.
