The Competition

Five talented and ambitious students have been nominated to vie for the prestigious title of Homecoming Queen:

  • Sydney Blackhurst, a junior from Gilbert, Arizona, who majors in accounting and is an active member of UA’s swimming and diving program. She plans to support the Rise Center through her role as homecoming queen.
  • Morgan Grzybowski, a senior from Wildwood, Missouri, majoring in biology and co-founder of the women’s hockey team at UA. She aims to use the Homecoming Queen Endowed Impact Fund to support Remote Area Medical services for underserved communities.
  • Carrington Mills, a senior from Pelham, majoring in chemical engineering.

    She intends to raise awareness about veteran suicide prevention through her involvement with the Student Veterans Association and Veteran and Military Affairs.

  • Rachel Rybicki, a senior from Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, member of the UA gymnastics team, double-majoring in finance and economics with a minor in Spanish. She has been investing in education for Flatwoods Elementary over the past three years and hopes to inspire others.
  • Crawford West, a senior from Birmingham, member of the track and field cross-country team at UA, majoring in public health with a minor in sales. She plans to support UA Paws, which works with the Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter if she is elected homecoming queen.

A Look Back: Homecoming 2024

Homecoming in 2024 saw Hannah Adams, a senior from Birmingham, crowned as the homecoming queen. Adams double-majored in Political Science and Public Relations on the CREATE Path to a master’s degree in business administration. The announcement was made during an Oct. 25 pep rally on the UA Quad, which featured a bonfire and a drone light show. Adams was later crowned during halftime of the Alabama-Missouri football game, where Alabama emerged victorious with a score of 34-0.

Preparation and Engagement

The Homecoming Court candidates are actively engaged in campus life and community service, showcasing their commitment to the university’s values. By participating in various events and utilizing the Homecoming Queen Endowed Impact Fund, they hope to make a meaningful difference while representing the University of Alabama.
