BoA Grand Nationals Semifinals: Indiana Bands Shine
The Bands of America (BOA) Grand Nationals, one of the most prestigious high school marching band competitions, is set to kick off its semifinal rounds this Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Eight Indiana schools have secured their spots in the competition, representing a diverse mix from Central Indiana’s top high schools.
The competition will begin early in the morning with performances from Center Grove High School starting at 7:15 a.m., followed by Brownsburg at 9 a.m. The schedule continues throughout the day, including Fishers at 9:45 a.m. and Avon at 1:30 p.m.
Notable Competitors
A variety of Indiana schools are set to compete in the semifinals, including:
- Carmel High School, performing at 2:15 p.m.
- Carroll H.S., Southmoore H.S. (OK), and other out-of-state participants such as Jenks H.S. (OK), Nation Ford H.S. (SC), and Southlake Carroll H.S. (TX) also advance to the semifinals.
The lineup includes schools from different regions, reflecting the nationwide reach of the BOA Grand Nationals competition. These include Texas bands like Arlington High School and Wando High School, as well as Arkansas’ Flower Mound High School among others.

Looking back at last year’s event, Avon High School emerged as the first-place winner, followed by Carmel in second. Broken Arrow (Oklahoma) secured third place, while Tarpon Springs (Florida) took fourth.
