MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. – In a thrilling encounter that saw the Lindenwood Women’s Hockey team securing their first shootout win of the season, Zsofia Pazmandi played a pivotal role with her two goals and successful shootout attempt against Bemidji State on Saturday afternoon.

Early Action and First Intermission

The game kicked off with Bemidji State scoring just under two minutes into the first period, setting the stage for an intense match. Lindenwood’s Zsofia Pazmandi tied the score at one with 1:49 remaining in the opening frame after receiving a pass from Tatiana Blichova. The Junior Forward from Hungary executed a deke to her right, fooling Bemidji’s goaltender and securing the first goal for Lindenwood.

Second Period Stalemate

Bemidji State’s Morgan Smith netted the only second-period goal with less than six minutes left in the period. Despite outshooting the Beavers 16-10, Lindenwood was unable to capitalize and trailed by one going into halftime.

Third Period and Overtime

Lindenwood regrouped for a strong third period, with Lexington Secreto stepping up with 19 consecutive saves over the final 30 minutes. Zsofia Pazmandi scored again late in the third to level the score at two, setting the stage for an exciting overtime session.

Shootout Victory

The shootout marked a historic moment as Molly Henderson opened with a goal and back-to-back saves from Secreto. Despite Tatiana Blichova missing her opportunity, Pazmandi delivered the winning shot. This victory comes just two weeks after another shootout win for Lindenwood, cementing their reputation as a resilient team.

Lindenwood Women’s Hockey is now 5-13-2 on the season and prepares to face Mercyhurst University in what promises to be a critical match next weekend.

The puck drop is scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m. CT (Central Time).
