He acknowledges the high stakes of his position. “Nobody does that,” he says of never missing kicks over a career. “But the big thing in NFL and professional sports is that you’ve got to get on to the next one.” The pressure to perform consistently is immense, but McAtamney’s family believes in him. “He’s relatively calm about the whole thing and to be fair to him seems to be taking it all in his stride,” says Conor.
