This accolade comes at the heels of their impressive start to the 2025-26 season.

Notably, Stuelke has been recognized for her stellar performance with a number of other awards. In addition to being named to the Wooden Award Top 50 Watch List, she has also been included on the preseason Naismith Trophy, Katrina McClain, and Ann Meyers Drysdale Award watch lists. These accolades highlight her contributions and potential impact in the upcoming season.

Deal’s Early Impression

Big Ten Representation

The Hawkeyes are not alone in their pursuit of these prestigious awards as they join a select group of representatives from the Big Ten Conference. Other schools with players on the list include Michigan (Syla Swords and Olivia Olson), Ohio State (Jaloni Cambridge), USC (Jasmine “Jazzy” Davidson), and UCLA (Lauren Betts, Sienna Betts, Kiki Rice, and Gianna Kneepkens).

Selection Process

The Wooden Award Top 50 Watch List comprises 50 student-athletes who are frontrunners for the most prestigious honors in college basketball. Selected by a preseason poll of national college basketball experts, these athletes are considered to be among the top contenders for the Wooden Award All-American Team and the Wooden Award Most Outstanding Player.

The winners will be honored at the Los Angeles Athletic Club on April 10, 2026, marking an exciting milestone in their careers. The Hawkeyes return to action on Thursday, Nov. 20, when they clash against No. 10 Baylor in the WBCA Showcase in Orlando, Fla.

The game is set to begin at 8 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
