NBA Monday Night: Tripleheader Action Begins
The National Basketball Association (NBA) is set to kick off its exciting Monday night lineup tonight. The action will get underway at 7:00 PM ET with the New York Knicks facing off against the Detroit Pistons, followed by a pivotal clash between the Denver Nuggets and the Philadelphia 76ers starting at 8:30 PM ET. The evening’s festivities continue with a showdown between Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers at 10:00 PM ET, all on Peacock.
Nuggets Struggle Amid Absences
The Denver Nuggets are currently in a bit of a rut. The team has lost four out of their last five games, most recently falling to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Brooklyn Nets back-to-back. These setbacks come as Nikola Jokic is sidelined for at least four weeks after hyperextending his left knee during a loss against the Miami Heat on December 29. Despite this, Jokic remains the league’s only player averaging a triple-double and currently ranks sixth in scoring with an impressive 29.6 points per game.
76ers Showing Team Unity
The Philadelphia 76ers are enjoying a resurgence of their team chemistry after defeating the New York Knicks on Saturday, clinching their third consecutive win. Tyrese Maxey led the way with 36 points in that victory. Joel Embiid and VJ Edgecombe both contributed with 26 points each, while Paul George added 15.
According to Joel Embiid himself, the team feels better as a unit now: “The biggest difference is we just feel better as a unit. We trust in the process of this team,” he said after the win.
The victory has also brought some optimism back into the locker room, with Embiid stating that everybody in the 76ers’ squad is starting to enjoy playing more than before. “It’s safe to say everybody in this locker room is starting to enjoy the game. We’re starting to enjoy being out on that floor, playing on both ends. And I think we’re just jelling,” he added.
