Funny Car points leader Austin Prock made history by earning his seventh No. 1 qualifier of the season at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“Hanging out on the starting line with my dad, brother and Nate Hildahl, I knew that the track was in good shape,” Austin Prock said. “I knew that we were capable of running well.”

Brittany Force Aims for Sixth No. 1 Qualifier This Season

Top Fuel category saw Brittany Force keep her No. 1 position, thanks to a strong run on Friday. With this achievement, she aims to win in Las Vegas during her final appearance at The Strip.

“I never would have imagined I’d have 58 No. 1 qualifiers,” Force said. “That just sounds like an impossible number, but I’ve been out here for many years, and I’ve been teamed up with many amazing crew chiefs and sponsors who have supported me to get us to that point.”

Force set the track speed record on Friday and is determined to close out the weekend with another victory in Las Vegas.

Greg Anderson Dominates Pro Stock

In Pro Stock, Greg Anderson made a statement by making the quickest run in both sessions. His 6.572 at 206.76 in his HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro secured him the No. 1 spot and added to his impressive career record.

“Yesterday we were just a little bit off,” Anderson said. “We had a lot going on, obviously with the Black family on my mind and I was maybe a little distracted.”

The reigning world champion is focused on securing victory in Las Vegas to gain ground against points leader Dallas Glenn.

Pro Stock Motorcycle’s Gaige Herrera Stays at No. 1

Gaige Herrera, the back-to-back world champion, maintained his position as the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock Motorcycle with a 6.800 at 199.17 on Friday. Herrera is eyeing his third straight Las Vegas win and aims to gain ground against points leader Richard Gon.

“Every time I’ve been in any kind of situation championship-wise or points-wise, or if I say, ‘I need to do this or need to do that,’ it always bites me in the butt. I just go up there and let the cards play out however they’re going to play out,” Herrera said.

Herrera is confident about his chances and believes in executing his job well on race day.
