Stefan Nelson, a resident of The Gastonian, recounted his harrowing experience: “I left my unit for a few minutes to walk to the store. When I returned, the place was on fire.” This is not the first time Nelson has faced such an ordeal; he had also lost everything in a fire in Duncanville several years ago. Despite the loss, he expressed gratitude for his survival and stated, “I’m just blessed that I’m alive.

Another resident, Courtney Bryant, quickly rushed home after work to save her French bulldog, Charles. While the pet is safe, their residence remains unlivable due to extensive smoke and water damage.
