Legendary Players Enshrined into Hall of Honor
The Pittsburgh Steelers paid homage to three of their most iconic players at the 2025 Hall of Honor Dinner Ceremony. Linebacker Joey Porter Sr., center Maurkice Pouncey, and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger were inducted into the organization’s prestigious Hall of Honor Class of 2025.
Induction Day
The induction ceremony was held on Sunday night, December 14, 2025, at Acrisure Stadium. This event not only celebrated their achievements but also provided an opportunity for the players to reconnect with old teammates and share memories from their playing days.
Memories and Reflections
“I don’t get to see these guys all of the time,” said Porter, reflecting on the camaraderie that defined his time at the Steelers. “So, it’s great to have teammates come back out, celebrating something that’s so huge. It’s great to have all the guys that I did these things with around.”
Pouncey echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the strong brotherhood they shared: “It brings back some of the old memories that we had, but just to talk about what we got going on in life now. We felt like when we retired, we’d have a lot more time to do things in life.
I feel like I’m a lot busier now in life than I was playing football.”
Roethlisberger added his perspective: “The Super Bowls were special, but the lasting friendships and bonds with my teammates were what made it all possible. The trust we had on and off the field is something that will never be forgotten.”
A Look Back at Their Careers
Porter’s career was marked by his leadership and defensive prowess, while Pouncey was known for his resilience and mental sharpness. Roethlisberger led the team to two Super Bowl victories, earning him a special place in Steelers history.
“It just feels right,” said Pouncey, reflecting on sharing this honor with Roethlisberger. “We played so long together, for me and him to be in the opposite spectrum of growing up in life and still talking on a usual basis now, it just feels right.”
The induction ceremony was more than just an honor; it was a celebration of the bonds formed during their careers and the lasting impact they had on the Steelers organization.
