You might think this is new, but… it’s not. The central United States, particularly the South and Midwest, are entering another round of severe weather. Communities that were already reeling from last week’s storms have little time to recover.
Severe Storms Affecting the Deep South
Monday’s threat targets the Deep South with a focus on large hail. The potential for severe weather increases throughout Tuesday, aiming at major cities like Chicago and Dallas. Expect EF2 tornadoes, damaging winds, golf ball-sized hail, and flooding.
The Storm Shifts Eastward
By Wednesday, the threat moves eastward, stretching from the interior Northeast to the Gulf Coast. This region can expect thunderstorms with wind gusts over 74 mph, tornadoes, and locally heavy rain. Some areas may see another 1-3 inches of rainfall.
