Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) is set to welcome a new culinary addition with the opening of Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay. The restaurant, developed through a partnership between Bobby’s Burgers and Grove Bay Concessions, marks the second airport venue for the brand, following its successful establishment at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Strategic Expansion into Non-Traditional Venues

The strategic move by Bobby’s Burgers to open in RDU aligns with the brand’s vision of expanding into high-traffic venues that offer quick and quality dining options. Ignacio Garcia-Menocal, Co-CEO of Grove Bay Concessions, expressed excitement about serving an “unforgettable dining experience” to travelers moving through Terminal 2.

The new location at RDU will offer a streamlined 400 sq. ft. kitchen layout, designed for speed and simplicity while maintaining high-quality menu items. Francesco Balli, another Co-CEO of Grove Bay Concessions, highlighted the brand’s commitment to providing chef-driven quality and consistent hospitality.

A Full Bar Experience at RDU

In addition to its signature burger offerings, the RDU location features a full bar with over 20 seats. This dual-service model not only caters to the diverse needs of travelers but also enhances the overall dining experience within the airport environment.

The success of this compact model supports Bobby’s Burgers’ strategy to partner with operators specializing in transportation hubs, such as airports. The brand aims to franchise its concept across the United States and internationally, with 10 locations currently open and several more in development.
